Hey 5.5,
this week, we're going to discuss about an inter-class event that's going to involve all of our efforts... and that is the 2008 Inter-Class Recycling Competition- "Go Green".
Here are some details on the competition:
Competition Date: 26 September 2008
Collection period: 16 September 2008 to 26 September 2008
Collection items
Category 1 : Newspapers, computer printouts, magazines, used envelopes, brochures, pamphlets and used writing papers.
Category 2 : Aluminium Cans
Category 3 : Plastic Bottles
Now, knowing what items we have to collect and the time period we have now, let's all make an effort towards the recycling target of 60% set in the Singapore Green Plan 2012 by NEA (National Environmental Agency).
As all of us make efforts to Reduce, Reuse and Recycle the materials we use every day, let us actively bring in the items and stack them up neatly in class so that we can make a positive contribution to this meaningful environmental project and not forgetting to display our class spirit to work together!
For this week's posting, think about the importance of cultivating the habit of
"Going Green".
Why is there so much concern about having to conserve our Earth's natural resources??
If there came a day where our Earth's natural resources were to be gradually used up, how would it affect our lifestyles?
Here is an article from NEA about how we could try to achieve a higher recycling rate. Identify the problem mentioned in the article and think about suggestions on how we can possibly solve the problem.

Reflect upon these questions and post in your opinions to these questions.
